To install and integrate Ammonia monitoring instruments in 7 different sites across the Western Isles to protect the public supply against future quality failures and interruption to supplies

Scope
IDS were to manufacture, install and commission the 7 no. instrument boards and integrate these into the existing works. The instruments were to be connected to the existing works PLC and provide automatic plant shut down facilities, with associated alarms connected to the telemetry.

Our Service and Delivery
Locations provided a logistical challenge. The survey could not be accommodated, so we carried a range of supplies to cover all eventualities and ensure single visits to the site.

Instruments were delivered in 2 shipments to cover Uists / Benbecula, followed by Lewis / Harris. Condensed installation & commissioning team visits prevented unnecessary travel, reduced the programme timescales.

This all allowed efficient collaboration between the site operators and ids_ installation team, despite ferry cancellations (weather) on more than one occasion.
