Dalmuir WWTW is on the North West side of Glasgow. The plant is a Waste Water Treatment Works serving a population of some 250,000, between Cumbernauld and Dumbarton with capabilities of treating approximately 100,000 liters of waste water per hour. The project involved the full installation of 2 new fine storm screens. IDS were sub-contractor to Saur Services and Project Managed the project on their behalf.

Project Scope:

_ Overall project value £500,000

The main drivers for this project were to manage storm waters through the works and to assist the existing 5 Storm Screens to avoid flooding within the works and contamination to the local resident’s roads and foot paths.

To reduce the level of solids passing from the course screens to the works outfall.


Services Provided:

_ Project Management of the full installation works

Procurement of all MEICA equipment including MCC, PLC, Penstock valves, Storm screens and waste conveyors.

Interface PLC design builds, install and commission.

Civil works, Mechanical and Electrical installation works and commissioning
