IDS were contracted to provide electrical installation services for Raynesway Construction for the new roadway lighting at Aberdeen Airport.

LED lighting was considered to be the perfect solution as it only runs at 45% of the load to a similar fitting which in turn delivers 55% energy savings. The new lights were also controlled to run at 50% output during periods of low passenger numbers which would further reduce the energy consumption by as much as 15%.

The Led lighting provides lighting that enhances the environment for passengers and staff , saves energy and is virtually maintenance free.

Robert Arnott , BAA project manager went on to say that “the lighting quality was superb with good uniformity and almost perfect colour rendition.”
